6 years ago, when I was just starting to learn Tarot, I thought that Tarot cards were meant for fortune-telling and could tell about what lies ahead for me. The aim of reading Tarot was to prepare for the future.
⠀
But you know what?
‼️Fortune-telling isn’t helpful, and therefore cannot solve our problems (no matter how much we want it to).
⠀
Here’s what it looks like in life:
⠀
There’s a girl, let’s call her Zoa. She has a Tarot deck and a credit card debt of XXX amount. Every evening, she takes the deck in her hands and, filled with hope to get out of an unpleasant financial situation, starts fortune-telling.
⠀
«Will I pay off the debt?»
«Will I be able to settle the debt?»
⠀
She gets different cards - sometimes it seems like yes, and sometimes no... and although she firmly clings to the cards that promised successful debt repayment, when the payment date approaches, nothing changes.
⠀
So she continues drawing the cards, year after year. But nothing changes at all.
⠀
She wants to enjoy life - buy herself what she likes, go on dates in beautiful dresses👗, go to cafes with friends, and choose items from the menu not looking at prices.
⠀
But every time these desires are quickly quashed by the inner voice: «Have you seen your pay stub? What do you mean - dresses and cafes?! You have a debt to pay off!» 😞
⠀
But she still wants to believe in the best even in this total darkness, so she continues to fortune-tell:
⠀
«Will I pay off my debt?
Will I have an interesting and well-paid job where I am valued?»
⠀
There are usually two outcomes:
✅Either Zoa rejoices a “positive” card (wow, the King of Pentacles is at my doorsteps!)
⠀
✅Or she stresses out 🤔 because of a negative card that says «hope is lost», and she feels like a slap in the face - stunning and very unpleasant.
⠀
Instead of solving pressing issues, Zoya plunges into depression, stress, and resentment.
⠀
But that’s not all! The scariest thing about fortune-telling I’m leaving for the next post! Don’t miss it!
